Minori: the city of taste

The Amalfi coast at its calmest: a Roman seaside villa, handmade pasta and the sweets that made the village famous.

The quieter side of the coast

Minori is the most compact town on the Amalfi coast, built around its bay and seafront. The Romans loved it too: a maritime villa stood here, whose remains can be visited in the centre of the village today.

Pasta and sweets

Minori earned its title of «city of taste» through its handmade pasta workshops and traditional sweets, from riccioline to the lemon delizia. The workshops can be visited and often offer tastings straight from the counter.

The Roman villa

The Roman Maritime Villa shows cryptoportici, frescoes and gardens of an imperial-era coastal residence. It is a short but evocative stop that adds depth to a day by the sea.

Getting there

From Pompei continue as for Amalfi, by coast bus or ferry from Sorrento; from Minori the trail up to Ravello is a demanding but memorable walk. The village is perfect for a slow lunch and an unhurried afternoon.
