The mountain of the peninsula

Monte Faito is the main peak of the Monti Lattari, the range crossing the Sorrentine peninsula to the Amalfi coast. From its 1131-metre summit the view covers the Bay of Naples, Vesuvius, Capri and, on clear days, the Apennine peaks.

Trails and walks

The trail network suits everyone: from the easy route through the beech wood to panoramic paths towards the sea. Popular goals include Monte San Costanzo and the viewpoints over the coast, with aromatic herbs and spring flowers along the way.

A summer escape

The village of Monte Faito is a cool retreat in the hot months, when the coast swelters and the woods stay around 25 degrees. Families and hikers bring their lunch and spend the day between shade, meadows and views.

Getting there

From the side of Castellammare and Vico Equense the scenic road climbs to the village; in high season you can consider the cable car from Seiano, checking opening days and hours in advance. By Circumvesuviana from Pompei you reach Vico Equense in about 30 minutes.
